OUR DAY

The leaves are falling outside! I can't believe fall is here. My goal is to get so much outdoor time in (that we are sick of going out there) that by the time the frigid winter weather arrives we won't be disappointed that we aren't going outside so much.

In one of the books we were reading there is a page that explains how monkeys eat mangoes. Today, after I cut up and set out several bowls of mango chunks, Mo decided he didn't want a snack. After I asked him why he said, "It is monkey food". He never came around to eating any! The other littles devoured their mango, though!

We also had smoothies today. My little secret is to toss green veggies in smoothies. Green vegetables usually have a subtle taste so once they are blended with yogurt and fruit you can't tell they are there. Plus, raw green veggies are more beneficial than cooked and how else could you get toddlers to eat raw green veggies?!?!

We practiced color identification some more today. We are getting some of them down! Jimbo likes yellow, Ez likes orange, Mo likes blue, Lo likes anything he can eat.

We are also doing grace and courtesy lessons. Today we sat in a circle and practiced our please and thank you usage by passing a hat around. The only way someone would pass the hat was if another said "Please!" and followed with a "Thank you!". The littles did great with the exercise. We also practiced stopping and asking "What is wrong?". I've found in the heat of the moment, fighting for a toy, the littles don't realize they are really upsetting each other. I was SO excited when Mo heard Jimbo fussing (well after practicing "what's wrong") and went over to him and full of concern asked Jimbo, "What is wrong, friend?". Seriously, it made my day!

Yoga is probably more for my sanity than anything. The kids love using the cork blocks!

Our chicks are getting SO big. They are a week old!

Mo loved dressing the magnet guy in different outfits!

We ended our day together with kick ball. They did great identifying who's turn it was to kick to and then following through!
